Sting Rout Lancers

The Seneca Sting (12-2) defeated the Loyalist Lancers (6-7) 100-56 to remain atop the OCAA East Division.

With just over a month before the post-season, the Sting appear to be kicking things into high gear. The Lancers were overmatched and outplayed in every facet of the game as the Sting rolled to their fifth straight win.

Balanced scoring continued to be a key for the Sting as five players reached double-digits in scoring, topped by Khalil Miller's 17 points and 8 rebounds.

The Sting jumped out to a 22-12 lead after the opening quarter and 46-22 at halftime, holding the Lancers to just 20.6% (6-of-29) shooting in the first half. Conversely, the Sting shot 35% (14-of-40) in the opening half.

Defense continued to be a point of emphasis in the third quarter as the Sting expanded their lead to 37 points, holding the Lancers to just eleven points in the quarter.

With a 70-33 lead, the Sting set their sites on the century mark in the fourth quarter. Powered by 56% shooting from behind the three-point line, the Sting scored thirty points in the quarter, punctuated by a Miller three-pointer with 34 seconds left to hit the 100-point plateau.

Isaiah Ankra (16 points, 6 assists), Isse Ibrahim (16 points, 6 rebounds), Jordan Anderson (12 points) and Julio Vazquez (11 points) all powered the Sting attack along with Miller. Dimitri Lim chipped in 5 assists.

Raymond Yeung led the Lancers with 12 points. Akim Ruot finished with 11 points and 6 rebounds. Will Dorelien came off the bench to score 11 points and Noah Korovesi added 10 points.

The Sting shot 40.3% as a team compared to 27.6% by the Lancers. The Sting held a 39-29 advantage in rebounds and forced the Lancers into turning the ball over 24 times compared to just 11 for the home team.
