Sting Fall Short Against Colts

The Seneca Sting fell in their home opener to the Centennial Colts in a five-set marathon 21-25, 25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 10-15.

In a back-and-forth match, the Colts used a four-point run in a deadlocked fifth set to outlast the Sting.

After trading points to 7-7, the Colts took an 11-7 lead in the deciding set and were able to close out the set 15-10.

In a trend throughout the night, it was the Sting who had used a run help even the match and force the final set. Trailing 8-7 in the fourth set and down two sets to one, Joshua Cust served five straight points, including an ace, to give the Sting a 13-8 lead.
