Disastrous First Inning Dooms Sting
The Seneca Sting gave up 11 runs before stepping into the batter's box, losing the first game to the Humber Hawks 15-4 (5 innings). Trying to claw their way back into the game following the disasterous start, the Sting scored three runs in the bottom half of the opening inning. Following a scoreless second, the Hawks added four runs while the Sting completed the scoring with a run in the bottom of the third inning.
- The first nine Humber batters reached base in the first inning
- The Sting had just five hits, their lowest total of the season
- Each team committed one error
- The Hawks walked 10 times to the Stings' five
- Tyler Hill had two RBIs
- Dan Seguin scored two runs for the Sting
The Sting (2-5) and Hawks (6-1) play the second game of their double header. The Sting host the Fanshawe Falcons (6-2) on Saturday, September 24 at 1:00 and 3:00 PM at Benjamin Vaughan Westmount Park.
