The Sting fell behind in the 2nd minute as the Surge opened the scoring on a near full-field length try. Jaime Conway responded in the 5th minute, picking up the ball on the left side of the pitch, juking a defender while cutting back towards the middle. Conway touched down in the centre of the scoring zone, setting up an easy convert for OCAA League All-Star Angelina Jahshan. Olivia Hooper put the Sting in the lead, picking up a loose ball following a Sting tackle. Hooper sprinted from midfield for the score while Jahshan converted the kick to end the first half.

The Surge closed the lead to 14-12 early in the second half, but Conway struck again in the match's final minute. Conway received a pass and went 75 yards, blowing past Surge tacklers. Jahshan converted the kick, striking her fist in the air as the kick sailed through the uprights to put the match out of reach.
