Sting Pick Up First Win of Season
The Seneca Sting battled the Algonquin Wolves, pulling out a three set sweep for their first win of the season.
The Sting captured the first set 29-27, battling back from a 24-23 deficit. Capturing the opening set proved crucial in swinging the momentum in favour of the Sting. Riding that momentum, the Sting took the second set 25-21 and the third set 25-20.
- Peter Ostranski led the Sting with eight kills while adding seven digs
- Sev Libramonte added seven kills and a pair of aces
- First year Tristen Forde had a team-high three aces
- Jaeson Bernal led the defensive effort with 18 digs.
- Setter Michael Sena quarterbacked the offense with 21 assists.
- The Wolves finished with a 31-26 advantage in kills, but the 24 service errors were the difference
- The Sting had 45 digs to 29 for the Wolves
