Sting Fall to Hawks

Game 1
The Seneca Sting dropped the opening game of their double header against the Humber Hawks 8-1.

The Sting took an early lead as Jasmin Namnama cross the plate in the first inning. Namnama reached on a walk and was driven home by Nicole Pound.

The Hawks quickly responded in the second inning, scoring five runs off Sting starting pitcher Chantel Gendron.

A pair of runs in the third inning by the Hawks provided them with a 7-1 before adding their final run in the seventh inning.

Gendron allowed 8 runs (7 earned) on 11 hits and 3 walks while striking out 3 batters. Pound had two of the three Seneca hits with Anna Downing adding the third hit.

Rachel Matheson-Green pitched a complete game for the Hawks, allowing 1 run (1 earned) on 3 hits, 2 walks and recording 7 strikeouts. Aaliyah Davidson paced the Hawks at the plate with a 4-for-4 performance including a pair of RBIs and scoring one run.


Game 2
The second game of their double header saw the Hawks storm out to a 19-0 lead in the first inning. The Sting settled in to hold the Hawks scoreless over the next two innings, but the game ended due to the Hawks being up by fifteen or more runs after three innings.
