Sting Celebrate Grads in Home Finale

Prior to the home finale, the Sting celebrated three graduates playing their final games in the Sting uniform. Larrissa Lemay (2016-2018), Anna Downing (2017-2018) and Amanda Van de Graaf (2017-2018) were each recognized prior to the first game against the Durham Lords. Highlighting the pre-game celebration was Lemay being named Honourary Captain and delivering the line-up card to the umpire prior to the game. Lemay was unable to play in the game due to an injury.

Game 1
The opening game of the double header saw the Durham Lords defeat the Seneca Sting 7-5.

The Lords opened the scoring in the first inning. Sarah Seifried doubled to center field, scoring Kaitlyn Hickey.

The Lords scored three runs in the second inning to take a 4-0 lead. Alexis Pereira tripled to right field, scoring Nicole Mancini and Andrea Patrick. Hickey later drove a single to left field to score Pereira.

The Sting bounced back in the bottom of the third inning, scoring three runs to pull within one. With bases loaded, Nicole Pound singled to left field, scoring Alik Derderian. Leanne Delorme walked one batter later to score Van de Graaf. Chantel Gendron added a single to right field to score Wonfor.

The Lords followed up with three runs in the top of the fourth inning before the Sting added two runs in the bottom of the fifth. Gendron reached on an error, scoring both Pound and Namnama.

In the bottom of the seventh, the Sting had the tying run at the plate, but a hard liner by Pound was grabbed by Julia Mantler to end the game.

Game 2
The second game of the double header saw the Lords defeat the Sting 10-1.

The game was close through five innings with the Lords leading 3-1, but a seven run inning blew the game wide open.

Emily Glendinni opened the scoring in the top of the first with a single to center field, scoring Pereira. The Sting responded in the bottom half of the inning when Alyssa Jansen homered to right field.

A single to left field by Courtney McKellar in the top of the third inning scored Kaitlyn Hickey before McKellar doubled two innings later, once again scoring Hickey.

Jansen led the Sting with a 2-for-3 performance at the plate.
