Somos Three Caps Thrilling Win
It took extra time, but the Seneca Sting won their fourth game in a row thanks to a last second three by Efstathia Somos (Greece) in a 66-65 thriller over the Durham Lords.
It was redemption for Somos who had missed an earlier shot that would have tied the game.
The teams went back-and-forth all night, creating a number of entertaining moments for the packed crowd.
The Sting led 18-14 at the end of the first quarter, but the Lords came out strong in the second quarter to take a narrow 31-30 lead into halftime.
Looking to keep their win streak alive, the Sting turned the one point deficit into a 45-37 lead before the Lords stormed back with ten consecutive points to take a 50-47 lead midway through the fourth quarter.
Kayla Marshall sent the game to overtime knotted at 56-56 following a last minute three-pointer.
In overtime, the teams exchanged the lead six times with the final change coming on Somos' three pointer with three seconds remaining.
