Allicock Powers Sting

The Seneca Sting went back to their winning ways, defeating the Georgian Grizzlies 65-47.

The Sting jumped out to a 10-3 lead early thanks to six quick points by Danielle Belcher. The Grizzlies closed the lead to a single point following an Eden Young three pointer, but the Sting were able to score the final four points of the quarter to lead 17-13.

The second quarter saw the Sting go on a 6-0 run to extend their lead to 27-19 as the home side took a 31-24 lead into halftime.

Taylor Allicock took over the game in the second half, scoring thirteen of her game-high twenty-two points as the Sting opened up a fifteen point lead after three quarters 46-31.

Georgian's Kelsey Dunkeld did her best to rally the Grizzlies, scoring eight points in the fourth quarter, but the Sting responded with six points from Chelsea Ramsay off the bench to close out the game.

Allicock added 9 rebounds and 5 steals to her 22 points. Melody Lucena added 11 points and 5 rebounds. Ramsay (10 points, 5 rebounds) and Belcher (10 points) all had big games offensively for the Sting.

Dunkeld had a team-high 19 points for the Grizzlies to go along with 15 rebounds. Cassidy Warren-Timpano finished with 12 points and 6 rebounds.
