Sting Push Undefeated Thunder Late

The Seneca Sting (2-8) pushed the Algonquin Thunder (9-0) deep into the fourth quarter before coming up short 80-66.

Tiffany McNeil had one of her biggest games of the season, scoring 23 points while adding 4 rebounds and 4 steals. McNeil was instrumental in helping lead an 11-0 run by the Sting to start the fourth quarter, tying the game 54-54.

Aiding in the Sting nearly knocking off the undefeated Thunder was Chelsea Ramsay, who finished with 19 points and 4 rebounds.

The Sting hung with the Thunder throughout the opening quarter, but fell behind by seven early in the second quarter. Milene Justo provided the Sting with a spark off the bench, scoring back-to-back three pointers, her only points of the game, to pull the Sting back within one.

Joining McNeil and Ramsay in double figures was Kelly McIlroy who scored 11 points and added 6 rebounds.

The Thunder were led by Rita Sibo who scored a game-high 28 points while adding 8 rebounds. Sierra Peck finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds off the bench while Nour Abdullah (13 points) and Michaela Branker (10 points) also hit double figures.
