Sting Route Grizzlies

The Seneca Sting (3-12) routed the Georgian Grizzlies (0-15) 60-32 in the final home game of the season.

The Sting were led by Tiffany McNeil and Kelly McIlroy who each had the hot hand throughout the game, especially in the second quarter.

Following a sluggish opening quarter which saw the Sting trail the winless Grizzlies 9-5, the Sting, led by a combined 23 points from McNeil and McIlroy, outscored the Grizzlies 24-5 to take a 29-14 lead at halftime.

McNeil continued to carry the Sting in the second half while Chelsea Ramsay found her offensive game. The duo combined for 19 points in the second half as the Sting expanded their lead to twenty-seven point.

The Sting's ability to improve their shooting efficiency was the key. Following an opening quarter which saw the Sting shoot just 10.5%, the Sting shot 39% percent as a team over the final three quarters while the Grizzlies shot just 26.1% for the game.

Prior to the game, the Sting recognized Faith-Ann Allison who played in her final home game with the Sting. Allison will be graduating in April.

McNeil finished the game with 23 points to go along with 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals. Kelly McIlroy added 19 points, 10 rebounds and 5 steals while Chelsea Ramsay contributed 12 points and 10 rebounds.
