Bio

Joe Amato was named the head coach of the Women's Soccer team on June 5, 2025.

Prior to his appointment, Amato was an assistant coach with the Men's Soccer team for six seasons (2018-2025). Amato joined the Sting as an assistant coach under Patrice Gheisar for the indoor season in January 2019. Following the departure of Rob Cavicchia in the fall of 2024, Amato was named interim head coach for the 2025 indoor season.

In six seasons with the men's team, Amato helped capture four OCAA bronze (2020, 2021, 2023, 2024), one OCAA silver (2022) and one CCAA silver (2022) medal, all during the outdoor season.

Amato was a student-athlete with the Sting for four seasons (2010-2014), capturing an OCAA bronze (2010) and OCAA silver (2012) along with one trip to the CCAA National Championship (2012) during the outdoor season and one silver medal (2012) during the indoor season.
