Sting Drop 2nd Semester Opener

Sting Drop 2nd Semester Opener

The Seneca Sting (3-7) fell to the Durham Lords (10-0) to open the second semester in straight sets 25-8, 25-13, 25-13.

Facing the undefeated Lords, the Sting knew they would be in tough, but the relentless attack by the Lords was something few teams in the OCAA could match. The Lords held a 34-10 advantage in team kills with Haley Bickell and Allyson Terwillegar each finishing with seven apiece for the Lords. Zeniah Pinnock and Gabrielle Wicks led the Sting with four kills each.

Defensively, the Lords held a 49-28 advantage in digs with Tiana Cowper and Pinnock topping the Lords and Sting respectively.

The well-rounded Lords also started rallies efficiently, scoring with ten aces to just two for the Sting as Bickell had a match-high five aces.
