Sting Fall to Coyotes in Four

The Seneca Sting (3-5) won the opening set, but saw their chance to get to .500 thwarted by the La Cite Coyotes (4-4) in four sets 27-25, 18-25, 17-25, 22-25).

The Sting took the opening set, ending a back-and-forth set which saw a number of lead changes. With the Sting leading 23-21, the Coyotes scored three consecutive points to put themselves on the verge of an opening set win. Following a missed serve, Zoe Rath displayed her dominance at the net, recording back-to-back blocks to close out the set for the Sting. Also aiding in the first set win was Tyra Hoard who had three service aces.

The second set saw the Sting jump out to a 15-11 lead, but the Coyotes scored six consecutive points with Marie-Soleil Dion's serving which had the Sting on the defensive each rally. The six-point run propelled the Coyotes to a set win to even up the match.

The Coyotes continued the momentum in the final two sets as Myca Beaulieu ran the Coyotes offense with precision, distributing the ball for a balanced attack which the Sting were unable to match.

Elizabeth Chow (7 digs), Gabrielle Wicks (2 aces), Zeniah Pinnock (3 aces, 10 digs) and Zoe Rath (7 blocks) each finished with 5 kills. Nicole Ting added 17 digs Tyra Hoard contributed a pair of kills, 4 aces and 10 digs.

Sofie Leduc topped the Coyotes with 8 kills to go along with 10 digs. Melissa Petrin (5 digs) and Marie-Soleil Dion (4 aces, 8 digs) each added 7 kills while Beaulieu finished with 28 assists.
