Bruins Take Home Bronze

The OCAA Bronze medal match saw the defending Gold Medalist Niagara Knights take on the Sheridan Bruins.  In a high energy match, the Bruins overcame dropping the fourth set to pull off an exciting 15-6 victory in the final set.  (21-25, 25-17, 25-23, 25-21, 15-6)

A spirited opening set saw the Knights come out hitting hard and often.  Using their strength and power, the Knights took an early lead and never looked back, leading the entire way to a 25-21 open set win.

In the second set, the Bruins came alive, taking an early lead and never looking back. The Bruins scored ten of the final thirteen points to win the set 25-17.

The energy picked up dramatically in the third set as both teams sought an advantage in the match. The teams went back and forth until the Bruins broke a 21-21 tie to go on to win the third set 25-23.

Niagara would not go away easily. The fourth set saw the Knights battle and bring back the power they had used all championship long.  The Bruins made it interesting, but the Knights were able to force a fifth set, winning the fourth set 25-21.

An energetic fifth set saw the Sheridan Bruins get an early lead and the Bruins determined not to give it up.  Heavy hitting and solid defense helped the Bruins win the fifth set 15-6 and take home the OCAA Bronze Medal.
