Sona Makulova, Faizan Shaikh and Saatvik Mahajan were named Seneca Sting Athlete of the Year winners for the 2019-2020 season at the first ever virtual Athletics & Recreation Awards Banquet Thursday night.

Makulova (Women's Soccer) was named Female Athlete of the Year for a second year in a row. Makulova helped the Sting capture a Silver Medal at the OCAA Championship and a birth to the CCAA Championship tournament.  Makulova was also named OCAA East Player of the Year, OCAA East Division Scoring Champion, an OCAA East Division League All-Star, CCAA All-Canadian and a CCAA Tournament All-Star.

The Co-Male Athletes of the Year were awarded to the Men's Doubles pair of Saatvik Mahajan and Faizan Shaikh (Badminton). Mahajan and Shaikh captured the OCAA East Regional Championship Gold Medal, OCAA Gold Medal, OCAA All-Star recognition and the CCAA Championship Gold Medal, completing an undefeated championship run.

 

Rookie of the Year distinction went to Brooklyn Feasby (Women's Rugby) and Poy Lo (Badminton).
