Three Sting Compete for National Gold

Three Sting Compete for National Gold

Three members of the Seneca Sting will compete at the CCAA National Badminton Championships in Truro, N.S.

In women's singles, the Sting will be represented by Moti Shams. The 2023 OCAA Women's Badminton Player of the Year finished second at the OCAA Championship, losing a hard-fought three-set thriller in the championship match.

The Sting will look to capture a third straight CCAA Men's Doubles National Championship as the duo of Anthony Tso and Kevin Shah compete against the best in the country. Tso and Shah captured the silver medal at the OCAA Championship and were named OCAA East Regional all-stars. The Sting won gold in men's doubles in 2019-20 (Saatvik Mahajan and Faizan Shaikh) and against in 2021-22 (Anthony Tso and Akara Chooprawad). The 2020-21 championship was not held due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The championship takes place March 9-11.
