Sting Advance to Semi-Final

The women's and men's indoor soccer teams each finished 2-1-0 in round robin play, advancing to the OCAA Championship semi-final.

The women opened the championship with a convincing 4-0 win over the Conestoga Condors. The Sting improved to 2-0-0 with a 2-1 win over the Durham Lords, but fell to the reigning OCAA silver medalist, the Humber Hawks 4-1 in their final match of the day. The Sting will play the George Brown Huskies tomorrow (Friday) at 10:00 AM in the semi-final. The bronze medal match is scheduled for noon followed by the gold medal match at 1:30 PM.

The women are looking to repeat as OCAA champions after defeating the Hawks in penalty kicks at the 2022 championship.

The men fell to the Fanshawe Falcons 2-1 to open the championship before rebounding with a pair of 4-0 wins over the Sheridan Bruins and Durham Lords. The Sting will meet the Conestoga Condors at 11:00 AM in the semi-final. The Condors defeated the Sting 1-0 at the OCAA Regional. The bronze medal match is scheduled for 1:00 PM followed by the gold medal match at 2:30 PM.

The Sting are seeking their first OCAA Championship since 1999-2000 and their first OCAA medal since the 2011-2012 season (silver).

All matches are being held at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan.
