Badminton To Play For Pair of Bronze Medals
The Seneca Sting dropped each of their semi-finals at the CCAA National Championship in women's singles and men's doubles.
Moti Shams finished the round robin in fourth place in Women's Singles following a 2-3 record. Shams lost her opening match of the day against UKC 21-9, 21-4, but rebounded to defeat SAIT 21-13, 21-10. In the semi-final, Shams went up against top-seeded UKC once again and came up short 21-7, 21-4.
In men's doubles, Anthony Tso and Kevin Shah dropped their first match against UKC 21-15, 22-20. In their final match of the round robin, Tso and Shah defeated TKU 21-14, 21-12 to finish third. In the semi-final match against UKC, the duo dropped a heart-breaking three-set match 22-20, 27-29, 21-15.
Shams and the team of Tso and Shah will each play for a bronze medal tomorrow at 10:00 AM (AT). The championship is being hosted by Dalhousie University Agricultural Campus in Truro, N.S.
