Sting Sweep Cougars

The Seneca Sting exploded for an 11-1 win over the Sault Cougars to sweep their season-opening series.

The Cougars opened the scoring in the top of the first inning before the Sting responded in the bottom half of the inning.

The two teams remained deadlocked until the fourth inning when the Sting scored three runs. Roberto Pagliero singled to drive in Caleb Battye and Evan Bolieau with bases loaded. One batter later, Eric Baker stole third base and then scored on an errant throw to third base.

The Sting scored seven runs in the fifth inning as the Cougars' pitcher struggled to find strike zone, walking four batters and allowing one hit without recording a single out.

AJ Row had three hits with a pair of runs. Tyler Hill had two hits, a run and two RBIs while Battye also recorded two hits, an RBI and scored twice.

Jake Ruby picked up the win for the Sting, allowed one run (one earned) on six hits with five strikeouts in five innings.
