Sting Outgun Bruins For First Win

The Seneca Sting exploded for 13 hits to defeat the Sheridan Bruins 10-5 for their first win of the season.

One game after falling behind early, the Sting flipped the script, scoring a pair of runs in the first inning.

Leading 3-1, the Sting put the game out of reach with four runs in the fifth inning and three more in the sixth inning to take a commanding 10-3 lead.

The Bruins added a pair of runs in the seventh inning to complete the scoring.

Anyssa Hill paced the Sting at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs. River Johnston went 2-for-4 with five RBIs and a run. Leadoff batter Alexia Koitsopoulos was 2-for-3 with three runs and a walk while Jaidyn Wandelt finished with a pair of hits.

Taylor Stewart picked up the win, allowing one run (one earned) on two hits with a pair of walks and a strike out in four innings. Alyssa Van Der Werf pitched 2.2 innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits while striking out one.
