Pitching, Hitting on Full Display

The bats were hot and Taylor Stewart dominated on the mound as the Seneca Sting defeated the Sheridan Bruins 11-1 in six innings. The Sting opened the scoring in the top of the first inning with a pair of runs as Caity Allen drove home Alexie Koitsopoulos and later scored on a wild pitch. After adding a run in the second inning, the Sting scored four runs in the fifth inning. Back-to-back triples by River Johnston and Cassidy Warner preceeded a double by Chloe Ferko. Avery Thomson then drove home Ferko on an RBI single. The Bruins broke the shutout in the sixth inning before the Sting scored four runs in the bottom half of the inning to close out the game.

  • Eight of the nine Sting batters had at least one hit
  • Seven Sting had RBIs
  • Johnston, Jaidyn Wandelt and Ferko each had a multi hit game

  • Pitcher Taylor Stewart only surrendered six hits while allowing one run in the win

The Sting (4-9) and Bruins (2-10) play the second game of their double header. The Sting travel to play the Conestoga Condors (5-6) on Saturday, September 30 at 11:00 AM at Budd Park.
