How Sweep it is

The Seneca Sting secured their second consecutive doubleheader sweep at home, defeating the Sheridan Bruins 6-2. Each team scored a run in the first inning. Seneca's River Johnston continued her torrid RBI pace, driving in her 21st run of the season which moved the first year into fourth in the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA). Avery Thomson broke the tie in the second inning, scoring on an error. OCAA Star of the Week Anyssa Hill followed up her excellent week with an inside-the-park home run, also scoring Taylor Richer on the hit. The Bruins pulled within two in the third, but a pair of runs in the fifth inning by the Sting put the game out of reach.

  • Only four of the Sting runs were earned runs
  • Each team left five runners on base
  • The Sting had one error for the second consecutive game
