Sting, Singh Part Ways

The Seneca Sting and Brian Singh, head coach of the Men’s Volleyball team have parted ways.

Hired prior to the 2017-18 season, Singh was the second longest tenured coach with the Sting having been at the helm for seven years.

Singh leaves the Sting with a 45-58 overall record including 1-4 in the postseason and one trip to the OCAA Championship Quarterfinal.

The Sting reached the postseason in four of six seasons (the 2020-21 season was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic) with Singh behind the bench, but posted just two winning seasons including a 14-4 campaign in 2018-19 which saw Sting named the OCAA East Division Coach of the Year.

John Sharpe, Manager, Varsity and Operations thanked Singh for his time leading the Sting.

“I want to thank Brian for his seven years of contributions to the Men’s Volleyball program. I wish he and (wife) Michelle well along with their two young kids.”

The Sting open the regular season in October with tryouts commencing the second week of September.

The search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
