2023-24 Outlook
The Sting return 12 players from last year's team which captured an OCAA silver medal and will once again be one of the most experienced teams in the OCAA. The strength of the Sting will once again be the defensive side where the team has a combined 10 years of experience between Burke, Uddenberg and an incoming player. Christina Diaco takes over in goal from Edwards-Dowdall. Diaco appeared in four games last season, allowing one goal while also adding three goals offensively. Diaco was named the co-Most Valuable Player of the OCAA Indoor Soccer Championship where she led the Sting to an OCAA silver medal. The Sting are led up front two-time leading goal scorer Shanice Alfred. The 2021 CCAA All-Canadian paced the Sting with 12 goals in ten games last season. Anchoring the midfield will be Rebekah Lee. The third year was named a CCAA Championship All-Star and OCAA East Division First Team All-Star in 2022.

Also returning to the Sting this season are Mia Sills, Bianca Morra, Martina Pannia, Famele, Faith Metcalf-Simiana, Jianna Mustafaj and Sydnie Street. Joining the four-time reigning division champions are first years Katlynn Camara, Anamelia McDonald, Kayla Uddenberg, Alexis Cordeiro, Lauren Sabine, Jessica Shears, Chiara Marin, Ella Pragnell, Alexandra Romualdo, Hailey Greco and Ediva Palermo.

The Sting will be bolstered by the return of two familiar faces in Emma Gattoni (4th year) and Yoana Peralta (5th year). Gattoni was a member of the Sting from 2013-2015, helping the team capture an OCAA Championship and CCAA bronze medal. Peralta re-joins the Sting following a professional stint in Iceland.

At the helm will be Luca Sirianni who returns for his ninth season. A two-time OCAA divisional coach of the year (2019, 2021) and one-time OCAA Coach of the Year (2019), Sirianni will be joined once again by assistant coaches Sarah Donato (5th year), Kristen Bettencourt (2nd year), goalie coach Matt George (5th year) and recruitment and scouting coach Rob Uddenberg (1st year).

"The goal in 2023 is to raise the bar once again and ultimately compete for a medal at the CCAA National Championship. With the nucleus of core players intact and a strong recruiting class, the Seneca Sting Women’s Soccer team is buzzing to get the season started." - Luca Sirianni, Head Coach
