Tso, Lau Capture National Silver

Anthony Tso and Jordan Lau fell in the championship match of the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Badminton National Championship in men's doubles to capture a silver medal.

Entering the final as the third seed following a 4-1 round robin and semi-final victory, the Sting looked poised to capture the school's first national championship in men's doubles since 2022 (Anthony Tso and Akara Chooprawad).

Following an opening set loss 21-14 to the SAIT Trojans, the Sting looked to even the match, leading 14-12 late in the set. A couple of close calls went against the Sting late in the set, narrowly landing out on their opponents side or narrowly in on their side, and the Sting saw their lead evaporate. The Sting continued to battle, but were unable to pull ahead late after the Trojans tied the match 15-15. The Trojans closed out the match with a 21-19 win in the second set as the Sting settled for a runner-up finish.

The silver medal is the best finish in men's doubles for the Sting since 2022, having captured bronze each of the past two national championships.

Tso has been a part of the each of the last four national medals in men's doubles, each with a different partner. Lau returns to Seneca with his first CCAA medal in just his first appearance at the CCAA national championships.
